After completing his primary and secondary education in Elazığ and Malatya, he won Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and started his medical education. In 2005, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, after 18 months of compulsory service in Çankırı Yaprakılı / İkizören health center, he won the medical specialty exam in 2007 and started his General Surgery residency at Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital. In 2013, he completed his specialization and started compulsory service in Giresun/Alucra.
Since 2014, he left the public sector and worked on obesity in various private institutions. He worked in the field of advanced laparoscopic surgery, obesity surgery. He worked in the field of traditional and complementary medicine, worked on diabetic foot and chronic wound healing.
He is a member of Turkish Surgical Association, Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery Association, Turkish Obesity Surgery Association, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Association.
Salim Balin has an intermediate level of English. His special interests include bariatric surgery-Holistic Approaches to Obesity, tumor surgery, diabetic foot chronic wound care and Functional Medicine (integrative). He has written chapters in medical books in his field and has conducted various studies published in Turkey and abroad. He is married and has 2 children.
